The trip also includes a visit to the Ram Janaki Temple in Janakpur, a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus. From Kathmandu, the adventure takes you through the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadi, leading to Gyirong.
Throughout the journey to Tibet, you will encounter beautiful snow-capped Himalayan peaks, sprawling Tibetan plains, and pristine valleys. The road trip leads to the holy Lake Manasarovar and the majestic Mount Kailash (6,638m), the highlight of the trek. Mount Kailash is believed to be the home of Lord Shiva and devotees visit them to cleanse their past sins and many pilgrimages ask, can we touch Mount Kailash during Parikrama. Altitude Sickness
The key thing you should be careful about while traveling at high altitudes is avoiding altitude sickness. During trekking at high altitudes you might feel headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, tiredness, trouble sleeping, or breathness as your body adjusts. To help acclimatize your body, we have an acclimatization day before moving to higher altitudes. Drink plenty of water, stay calm, and avoid exercise. Do not drink alcohol or smoke before and during the trip. We recommend carrying Diamox tablets (ask your doctor for the right dosage). We also provide a Gamow bag, a device to help prevent altitude sickness.
