Day 3Everest Helicopter Tour
Prepare for an exhilarating day as we embark on an unforgettable journey to witness the majestic Mt. Everest, often referred to as the roof of the world. The adventure begins with an early morning drive to Tribhuvan Airport, aiming for a takeoff between 6 and 7 am, contingent upon the latest weather conditions in the mountains.
Fly to Lukla (2860m / 9389ft), 20 minutes
Our helicopter takes off from Tribhuvan Airport, treating us to a spectacular aerial view as we soar over verdant hills and settlements. The journey unfolds before our eyes, with distant mountains adding to the breathtaking experience. After a brief stopover in Lukla for defueling, we prepare to take to the skies again.
Fly to Kalapatthar (5545m / 18192ft), 15 minutes
As we fly over the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, we observe the diverse landscape of forestlands, rivers, and villages below. The renowned Namche Bazaar is a highlight on our route. The helicopter hovers around Kalapatthar, offering an intimate, close-up view of Everest that will be etched in our memories for years to come. Due to the high altitude and potential altitude-related sickness, a brief stopover of about 8 to 10 minutes at Kalapatthar is anticipated.
Return flight to Syangboche (3780m / 12402ft) (Hotel Everest View) and Breakfast
Our next destination is Syangboche, situated just above Namche. With the town of Namche below and the towering peaks of Kongde, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam in close proximity, the view from here is nothing short of spectacular. Despite the breathtaking scenery, the high altitude prompts a limited 30-minute stopover. Indulge in a hearty breakfast at the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest establishments in the world.
Fly back to Kathmandu via Lukla
Our journey continues as we fly back to Lukla for a brief stopover of approximately 15 minutes for refueling before resuming the flight to Kathmandu. Awaiting you at Kathmandu Airport is a transfer vehicle, ready to take you back to your hotel.
This day promises a thrilling adventure, offering not only unmatched views of Everest but also an opportunity to experience the Himalayas from different perspectives. The combination of aerial exploration and strategic stopovers ensures that every moment is savored, making it a highlight of your Nepal adventure.
