The standard itinerary of the Kori Trek is usually 6-8 days if it starts from Pokhara. Otherwise, if it starts from Kathmandu, it can last 8 days.
The core trekking portion of the Kori Trek is 3 to 5 days only. On an average day, trekkers have to walk for 5-7 hours daily. Trekking officially starts from Sikles and heads towards Kori Danda. The longer the days is more safer it is. For good acclimatization, the Kori Trek itinerary with at least a week is best.

How Many Days for the Kori Trek?

Many Kori Trek itineraries start with a drive from Pokhara to Sikles and a direct trek to Kori Danda. Sikles is at 1,980 m in height, and the Kori Trek altitude is 3,800 m. More than 1,000 m of altitude gain at once is dangerous and not safe. The best itinerary includes two or three extra stops before going to Kori Danda. This helps the body to adjust to altitude and prevent altitude sickness.

How Far is Kori Trek from Pokhara?
The distance between Kori Trek and Pokhara is 40 km. Pokhara is the main gateway to Kori adventure. The itinerary starts in Pokhara (822 m) to Sikles (1,980 m) with a jeep drive. From the Sikles, only trekking officially starts. The route from Pokhara to Sikles is quite rough and off-beaten and takes about 3-4 hours. Along the drive, you pass through green rolling hills, rice fields, and mountain villages.
After arriving at Sikles, you hit the road on foot. From Sikles to Kori Danda and back to Sikles is about 40-50 km of hiking. The total distance also usually varies depending on which route you have chosen. If you have added side trips (like Kapuche Lake), the distance can lengthen.

The standard Kori Trek Itinerary of 7 days includes 28 km of climbing (Sikles→Hugu→Nohtha→Kori) and 8+ km descent back to Sikles. In total, you’ll hike around 6-8 hours per day, slowly gaining altitude. There is also a short route directly climbing from Sikles to Kori, but it’s not altitude-friendly and recommended.
Including the driving part from Pokhara as well, the total distance to complete this Kori Trek is around 80-90 km (40 km road + 40-50 km trek).

How Long is the Kori Trek?
Kori Trek is about 40-50 km long. The trekking distance and kilometers completely vary. The Kori Trek trails take you through forests and meadows. The trail winds through rolling hills with a lot of ascent and descent, so even a short 5-6 km distance can take 5+ hours. The distance from Sikles to Hugu Goth is about 7-12 km uphill, and the ascent from Nohtha to Kori is only 5 km but very steep. This steepness and climbing section take over most of the time.
Many trekekrs mistaking by rushing just to reach faster. That’s not safe and is highly not recommended. You must walk slowly and gradually. It’s a key to preventing altitude sickness and overexerting yourself.
