A short, delightful trip into the Annapurna region with slight challenges but plenty of picturesque views at culturally rich villages and the Himalayan panorama at Poon Hill.
Annapurna Panorama Trek, also popular as Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a short but interesting walk through lush green forests, cascading waterfalls, suspension bridges over big and small rivers, terraced farms and beautiful villages. The hospitality and cultural experience in the villages enrich the trekking experience while the view of the Annapurna range makes the perfect backdrop for almost every village that we overnight. The scenic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and especially the ever-changing Fishtail from different angles can easily be seen along the trek. A relatively relaxed walk, it can be done all through the year with average walking of 4 to 6 hours a day. This is an easy trek option in the foothills of the Annapurna. The highest point is only 3,200m, therefore it involves minimal risk of Altitude Sickness, also making it an ideal family adventure. This trek is a perfect fit for beginners to novice trekkers and those who love to trek with their family members. The viewpoint of Poon Hill is a major highlight of the trek.
While the firsthand familiarity with the tradition, culture, food, and lifestyle can be refreshing, the trek also embraces the diversity in wildlife and plants that the Annapurna region is popular for. Keep an eye out, especially for rare bird sightings.
