445 reviewsVery Professional - Amazing Trip! Feb 2018 • Solo Did the Everest Base Camp Trek in February 2018. It was an amazing experience. From the beginning Sadhana was a pleasure to work with. She was very professional and helpful. Once I arrived I was picked up a the airport by my guide, Ohm. Ohm was professional and knowledgeable. Upon arrival at Lukla I met our porter Gopal, and I can say very much the same for him. During the trek I made a lot of friends including Ohm and Gopal and I would highly recommend Access Nepal for trekkers interested in seeing the Himalayas.

Annapurna Base Camp - the most incredible trip ever. Jan 2018 • Solo I decided i needed a change in my life and looked online for an extraordinary experience. Thats where I found Access Nepal. I decided to climb Annapurna with only a guide and porter. From the outset my guide Purushottam (P.N. for short) was engaging and knowledgeable. We quickly became friends as he guided me through this extraordinary country and Himalayas region. My porter Sudip was equally as engaging and between the 3 of us we had an absolute ball. PN let me settle into my own pace and always gave me options on climbing routs, places to stay or what to do next. I never once felt unsafe or concerned; moreover every day was an absolute joy. Both Sudip and PN understood if I needed space and likewise I enjoyed getting to know them, their country and friends as I traveled up the mountain. To say that I was elated to make Annapurna is an understatement,. Its an incredible feeling of accomplishment. I might add that PN always got me the best room in the tea houses and always ensured that my food and board was top notch. The booking and payment process was easy, the communication always there. I can say that value for money this rates highly. There is a lot of talk about weather you should have a guide or do it yourself; personally i think that it gives you so much more to have a guide to talk you though the best paths, the countries cultures and to be the local conduit. More than once we came across a lost traveller who needed our help, plus it gives something back to the country and economy. I couldn’t recommend Access Nepal more highly.

Amazing, very professional, unbelievable trip! Mar 2018 • Friends I did the Everest Base Camp Trek in March 2018. It was an absolutely amazing experience. From the beginning Sadhana was a pleasure to work with. She was very professional and helpful. She is not only highly professional , but also a very kind and an amazing person. She was very efficient answering all emails immediately, addressing all questions and requests. She organized two amazing extra tours for me. Rock climbing and sightseeing tour. Both were great! All guilds were absolutely professional, experienced and skilled. Climbing guide Pemba Sherpa was unbelievable. He was professional, highly skilled and just great person! I had amazing climbing day ! Would absolutely go with them again. Once I arrived I was picked up at the airport by my guide, Ganesh. He was incredible ! Ganesh was professional and knowledgeable. He gave us lots of wise advice during the trek. Ganesh was just absolutely the best guid you can possibly have , full of knowledge and had great sense of humour ! I don't have enough words to express how incredible my experience with Access Nepal was! company provided us with everything we needed including great quality sleeping bags, dawn jackets, great guides, etc. I would highly recommend Access Nepal for trekkers interested in seeing the Himalayas.

Manaslu Circuit with Trevor, Beth and Gianna Mar 2018 • Friends We have just had a wonderful thirteen day trek around the Manaslu Circuit. And we felt really privileged to be trekking with Access Nepal. we were the trekkers to get the tea and bickies on arrival at our hotel each night, the only ones to have the apple and pomegranate dessert, and the only ones to get our blood oxygen levels checked each night over 3000 m for altitude sickness. Little Things Matter!! Some of the others we walked with who I knew had paid more didn't have such little luxuries. We were also extremely fortunate to be allocated our guide Jivan. Sadhana at Access Nepal promised me she would give us their best guide and I'd thought that maybe she says that to all the guys but I'm pretty sure now it was true. Without his prodding and coaxing, his little stash of pills, his humour at the end of a long day, his advice on what eat or drink or to leave alone - we may not have made it without him. And particularly when it came to the night before we went over the Larkya La and we had 20 cm of snow overnight and there was a pretty strong feeling that we were screwed and we'd have to walk all the way back the way we'd come, it was Jivan who convinced the other guides that it was doable. The 50 odd trekkers and staff who were there worked together to get over the pass safely - an unforgettable experience with people we'd come to know and enjoy the company of over the preceding days. It was a great trek to do. At the conclusion we drove down part of the Annapurna Circuit and there were at least ten times more trekkers on that route than we'd met on the Manaslu one. The scenery was fantastic, village life interesting, hotels and food were all we needed. OK the toilets at Daramasala were iced up and overflowing but do you expect at a shack like that at 4400?

Magical Scenery, Very Professional. Nepal ABC Trek Mar 2018 • Family Recently undertook the Access Nepal Annapurna Base Camp Trek with my daughter. It was an amazing experience and I cannot speak highly enough of Access Nepal. Organisation of the tour with Sadhana was simple and easy and she answered all our queries promptly. From the moment we were picked up at the airport to the day we were dropped back to the airport the tour was a great experience. Our guide Ganesh and porter Ram were amazing. Ganesh pointed out all the local highlights and managed every detail of the trip for us. The scenery was magical as you can see from the pictures attached. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation and food as we trekked up the mountains. Almost everything is included in this trip (including a high quality sleeping bag and down jacket if required) making it amazing value. If you are thinking of doing a trek in Nepal I highly recommend Access Nepal and if you are lucky you may get Ganesh as a guide.

Amazing scenes at Annapurna Base Camp Mar 2018 • Family Couldn't recommend Access Nepal anymore! Never I have been on such a well run tour. From the moment we landed at the airport until the day we flew out, the staff at Access Nepal made the trip seamless and made sure we were having the best time possible. The ABC trek provides an amazing week of scenery and culture. Our guide Ganesh had amazing geographical knowledge, made sure we always had the best of the accommodation and was there for our every need, always going the extra mile to make our trip incredible (he even provided us fruit every night after dinner that he picked up and carried himself from Pokhara!). Our porter, Ram, was incredible carrying our (very heavy) bags without a single complaint and made it look easy!! Each night we played games with Ganesh and Ram, something I noticed no other guides or porters were making and effort with and enjoying with their groups! The tour is excellent value for money, we only had to buy a couple of meals the entire trip and were also provided with down sleeping bags and jackets of excellent quality. The accommodation was always clean and very comfortable and the food surpassed all expectations whether you're after yummy local cuisine or a taste of home with western cuisine, all the lodges/ tea houses had a large menu from which you can pick anything! Sadhana was always prompt to reply to messages and met with us both before and after the trek to make sure our experience was going well. Nepal is a beautiful country with an amazing culture and our experience with Access Nepal trekking Annapurna Base Camp has been one of my favourite overseas trips ever!

From a mom Mar 2018 • Family I sent my husband and daughter on the Annapurna Base Camp trek in March 2018. My point of contact was Sadhana with Access Nepal. She distributed information to/through me about payment, itinerary, equipment needed as it turned out I was primarily responsible for getting both of them prepared to trek. I admit it was hard to send off credit card info to Nepal but all turned out well. They did need to pick up a few items in Kathmandu upon arrival with the help of Access Nepal. They stayed an extra day in Kathmandu upon return and Sadhana booked them a hotel room and Access Nepal even got each of them returned to the airport at their different times. Thank you for the extra help and I know they loved their trek!

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek Mar 2018 • Friends In March 2018 I trekked the Annapurna Sanctuary with Access Nepal Tours. What an incredible, memorable and spectacular trek! I was completely blown away with the beautiful ever-changing scenery we saw each day. I was very surprised by the yummy food and the accommodation/facilities were much better than I ever thought. Our knowledgeable guide Devman is a legend!! As soon as we met him we knew we were in good hands. He took such good care of everyone on the trek and no question or request was too much to ask. The porters were also very helpful and kind. The tour company was excellent and promptly responded to all our email enquiries. I highly recommend this tour company as it was very well organized and we honestly had no issues at all. I think this tour company is great value for money.

Caring and dedicated company Mar 2018 • Friends I did the Mount Everest Trek with Access Nepal. Sadhana was our contact person and organizer, Ganesh was our guide and Kamel was our porter. Right off the bat I will say this trek is a challenge and it is amazing and worth doing. I would definitely recommend you do it with Access Nepal. What an amazing company with wonderful staff. Right from the get go Sadhana was quick to answer questions and make sure we had everything in order before we even arrived. She also has good connections for organizing extra tours in Kathmandu. Ganesh clearly loves the mountains and is a dedicated guide. His priority is your safety, sharing his love of the mountains, and making sure you make it to base camp. I felt like I was a pretty slow trekker, but Ganesh kept reassuring me "slow is safe". Kamel was great too, it's amazing the strength of Nepalese porters, they carry so much on their backs. I unfortunately had my wallet and passport stolen while on my trip. Not only did Ganesh and Kamel do everything to try to find it, so did other guides. On one of his few days off in Kathmandu, Ganesh showed up to take me to the police station and help me file a report. He took me for lunch to his favourite momo restaurant and I got to experience the fun chaos of public transport. Sadhana took me for lunch, helped me organize taxis, printed off documents for me, and came to visit with me every night to make sure I was ok while waiting for my emergency travel documents. As stressed as I was because of the situation, Ganesh, Sadhana and Access Nepal made me feel safe and secure. I arrived in Nepal with a tour company, I left with friends.

Annapurna Sanctuary Mar 2018 • Friends A friend and I had talked about taking this trek for years, and we finally made it happen this year. We chose Access Nepal to do the Annapurna Sanctuary trek with, and they delivered in every way. It was a more scenic route to the Annapurna Base Camp. Sadhana was our contact point, and was lovely, and made everything clear and concise, from start to finish. Our Guide, Devman, was obviously highly knowledgeable, experienced and professional, and gave us subtle suggestions about things that ultimately made a big difference, like where & when to stop for lunch based on the particular weather we had or that he could see was coming. He was also so passionate about the mountains and he and our two lovely Porters were joyful to be with! We spent a lot of the time laughing. When I trek again in Nepal, it will be through this company.

An exceptional and unforgettable experience Apr 2018 • Friends Myself and my mother have completed Everest base camp trek with Access Nepal. To say we had a good experience would be an understatement, it was truly excellent. From day one exchanging emails with Sadhana we were looked after - our questions answered immediately with great advice, hotel booked for us (as we arrived a week before the trek), and every aspect looked after so that we could relax and enjoy Nepal thoroughly. Our guide was Devman, and he exceeded out expectations in every way. We read a review by a Canadian, Don, who mentioned "the Devman Advantage" and the five of us in our group agreed this was the perfect description for having Dev as our guide. From making sure we got the best seats on the flight to Lukla, to never having to wait for our bags at the teahouses, to having an endless supply of delicious cookies and even fixing the window in our room in the teahouses; Dev is the perfect example of what a guide should be. He is knowledgeable, professional, and has the most genuine generosity of spirit I've ever encountered. Along with the two porters and the other guide/porter Kiran, we had so much fun and never had to worry about a thing. Crucially, we met a lot of people who did not receive the right advice or help from their guide and many were not successful in reaching EBC. Dev's advice and knowledge is central to the 100% success rate of our trip. An important thing I need to mention is the tipping practice of these organizations. The trip prices are so reasonable because of the intense competition between trekking companies in Kathmandu. For this reason, the customer is extremely well looked after but the guides and porters are paid enough to cover the trip themselves and not much more. DO NOT BOOK ANY TRIP TREKKING IN THE HIMALAYA IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO TIP ADEQUATELY. These people work harder than you can imagine, long hours and heavy loads every single day and the tip they receive is often the only sum that makes the work a profit. 15% is the MINIMUM tip so please factor this into your budget, and once you see for yourself the work that goes into creating a perfect experience for you, you will see 15% is a more than reasonable suggestion. We want to thank Access Nepal and especially Dev and Sadhana for the absolute privilege it was to have this experience with them. Dev is an incredible asset to the company and the company itself is a perfect example of the success that can be achieved in supporting smaller, LOCAL businesses and not the multinational adventure corporations. Thanks guys and we will be back!!!

Everest Base Camp Trek --- Tony L. Apr 2018 • Friends Simply had the best time doing the Everest Base camp Trek. Sadhana was fantastic with all questions regarding trip arrangements. While in Kathmandu we added a day before and day after the trek in Kathmandu - Sadhana arranged this effortlessly. Her professional service and arranging was faultless. Made the trip so easy. Our guide Prakash was excellent with great knowledge of trek, region and I think his expertise in gauging the pace to walk at (especially up steep sections) helped our acclimatization. He always looked after us in the Tea houses and checked everything was fine. To top it off we had excellent weather all along the trek. Thank you Sadhana, Prakash and all the people at Access Nepal for a wonderful holiday/trek and great experience.

Incredible experience Apr 2018 • Friends I’m a 50+ woman with asthma and a dodgy back who successfully reached Everest base camp with my daughter due to determination but more importantly due to our exceptional guide Devman. Access Nepal are a very professional company, Sadhana dealt with all e mails promptly with attention to detail, relevant information and suggestions. If you are being met at the airport go outside terminal building before looking for a placard with your name on it. During the 14 day trek our group of 5 were looked after with a level of care that was unexpected. Our safety and well-being were an obvious priority for Dev which he ensured with humor, patience and kindness at all times. His knowledge and love of the region enriched the experience, but his sound advice on time for hot showers, food choices, clothes, times for trekking to enjoy the best weather, views, altitude symptoms and many more made the trek a success. It was apparent that Dev was well respected within the guiding community and tea houses, which in turn benefitted us. (Turns our he’s a great card player too!!) No wonder the company has an above average success rate in reaching base camp.

Everest Base Camp Treking with Access Nepal- With my experience and humble guide Devman Tamang Apr 2018 • Friends I am a 49year old male from Spore. Selected the 14 days hike with Access Nepal and my guide is Devman Tamang. It was an Excellent Trip which led me to decide to bring my entire family to go there again next year. The places that we gone were beautiful and the arrangement made by the organizer- Mdm Sadhana who had proven to be very understanding and prompt with her advises and years of experiences, made the booking seamless. She had basically provided all the information and even helped us to book the additional day stay in Kathmandu and also arranged for us 2 additional land tours too. (with minimum charge) She is the best organizer who puts her customers at heart. The trip was excellent. I was very lucky that my guide Devman who is fun yet very firm in giving us advises on what to eat, drink and even brought hot ginger drinks and medication for all of us, not forgetting the coconut cookies that gave us motivation to climb the mountains. I was sick on 2 separate occasions and luckily for me, Devman really looked after me. He gave me assurance, gave me medication, brought the dinner to my room and even pray for me to have a quick recovery. True enough, I have recovered and our entire team managed to reach the peak of the base camp. I will rate this trip "EXCELLENT, with the help of Mdm Sadana and the BEST guide in NEPAL Devman. I am currently planning to sign up for the Annapurna Base Camp for my entire Family. P.S. do be generous in the tipping for the guides and the excellent porters. Most of our team mates gave about 25% i.e. USD240 as tips for their service. Seriously, this is the least that we can help them. They really worked very hard and deserve our support. If you have any questions, do write to me. I am in Spore. Thank you for reading and pls have my assurance that this is a good trip and do book with Access Nepal. Edward Yeo Hong Sing Singapore

Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp Trek Mar 2018 • Solo I booked my Access Nepal Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp Trek last Sept and Sadhana helped me every step of the way. She was a great go to person for any questions or queries that I had and as I was travelling on my own by the time my trip came around on the 19th of March I felt very well prepared. My guide Giri was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the trek. Each night he went though the itinerary so that I was aware of what to expect the next day. I had a great time and would recommend Access Nepal to anyone considering trekking in Nepal or touring Kathmandu.

Everest Base Camp with Kala Patthar Trek Apr 2018 • Solo I would like to thank very much the excellent trek I undertook with ACCESS NEPAL. I am 52, from UK and was undertaking this journey as a sole traveller, having not done this type of expedition for over 30 years. I did a lot of research of various trekking companies and decided to go with ACCESS NEPAL and undertake their 14 day trek to Everest Base Camp. From my first contact with Sadhana when making initial enquiries I found her to be very open and quick to respond on the numerous occasions I contacted her and no question was too unimportant. The advice given by her and in their comprehensive itinerary briefing gave me confidence that I was going with a highly reputable company. Their briefing came with very good guidelines as to what to bring. Sadhana is one of the best organisers I have dealt with and she definitely puts her customers first. The arrival experience was good as their representative was waiting for me. All preparations were in hand and we departed on the appointed date. Our guide KUMAR was superb and he guided us extremely well, pacing the trip to our small group’s level of fitness. The outcome of that is we made it to both EBC and up Kala Patthar. We enjoyed superb weather and conditions on route and while busy a couple of nights in a couple of the teahouses it did feel not too crowded on the mountain. We were very fortunate not to have any disruption to our itinerary as we know others did experience and I put a lot of that down to the extensive and efficient organisation by ACCESS NEPAL. The scenery was mind blowing! Prepare yourself that sleeping in Teahouses can be fairly basic accommodation but you get to meet lots of other like-minded travellers and you share experiences and tips. We were fed very well for all the exertions of walking at altitude and on some days especially on the downward leg, prepare yourself for walking quite long distances. Note if you fly into Lukla you are restricted to 10kgs for your main pack which your porter takes and up to 5kgs in your day pack so you do need to be quite ruthless with what you take on the trek. Leave other non-essential stuff behind at Kathmandu. I did get a significant infection near the end of the trip and upon returning to Kathmandu our guide KUMAR took me to a local pharmacy and Doctor to get antibiotics. I did unfortunately end up in hospital for a couple of days while the they tackled the infection and Sadhana liaised with the hospital during admission, she spoke to me regularly as to how I was progressing and even came to visit me which I sincerely appreciated. Now that is customer service! I felt I was not left to be sick on my own in a foreign country! One thing I can say is my comprehensive medical insurance meant that there was no issues or hassle as to approving my urgent case for medical intervention and it highlighted to me the importance of having top notch medical insurance – DO NOT skimp in this area! I recovered in time to return back to the UK on my original return date. I rate this trip as "EXCELLENT, with the help of Sadhana, the best guide in Nepal, KUMAR and the whole ACCESS NEPAL team. I did not see much of Kathmandu unfortunately so there is some unfinished business I still have with Nepal and I would consider looking at other trekking options in the future. One thing I would advise is to make sure you build in at least two extra days as a buffer in case mainly weather conditions or other disruptions strand you in either Kathmandu or Lukla! Best wishes to all the team at ACCESS NEPAL.

Good service Apr 2018 • Couples We did the Annapurna Base Camp with Access Nepal and everything was Ok. We had a briefing meeting with Sadhana to understand how the trip would work, we just missed receiving the information about the hotels we would stay (since we booked the tour 1 month in advance, we thought they would have all bookings made). Actually, until now we did not understand how this works, if they book the places in advance or during the trip, because it was high season and there were 3 hotels that we stayed that rooms were not so nice (very thin walls, so very cold). But our guide, Giri and our porter, Madan, they were always very polite and kind to us. The only thing we missed being with a guide was to receive a little bit more of information about the mountain, flora and fauna of the region. The agency lent us very good quality sleeping bags and jackets which were very useful in cold days. So if you are thinking on doing the trek with an agency we recommend Access, just make sure to understand what is and what is not included during the trekking - things like shower, charger, wifi and tea can make a big difference in your budget in the end of your trip.

Everest 3 Passes Trek Apr 2018 • Friends I completed the Everest 3 Passes Trek with a group of friends in April 2018 and have nothing but the highest praise about the organization and service provided by Access Nepal. Everything was exceptional from the very beginning when I first contacted them about organizing the trek until our final departure from Kathmandu. The hotel in Kathmandu's Thamel quarter was located in a pleasant secluded side street with a peaceful garden for relaxing before and after the trek. We were provided with a very interesting and comprehending guided tour of Kathmandu valley. Our transport up to Lukla was handled with exceptional care. It seamed that we would not be able to fly out because of deteriorating weather so we were moved up to an earlier helicopter flight instead of flying by plane. Our guide and porters were professionals who knew their way around the mountain and worked tirelessly to ensure that our stay would be a pleasant one from making sure all our accommodations at tee houses were in order to providing us with fresh fruit after each dinner. I'm quite confident in saying that we'd not have completed the trek without their guidance and help. All in all, Access Nepal is a serious and professional local agency that does an excellent job in organizing your trek for a reasonable price.

Everest Base Camp Trek - Incredible May 2018 • Friends Everything about this trip with Access Nepal (with guide Ganesh) was excellent. Everything was extremely well organized, planned, and executed. All members of our team made it to Base Camp, and had an absolute blast. Ganesh was extremely knowledgeable in every area imaginable - Everest history, hiking routes, weather patterns, preventing altitude sickness, and much more. He made sure that we were comfortable, well fed, and having fun the whole trip. I would highly recommend Ganesh from Access Nepal to any friend looking to do the same (or a different one) trip.

12 Day Everest Base Camp - Incredible! May 2018 • Friends I could not imagine a better, more thought out trip to EBC. The Access Nepal team worked tirelessly to make sure that we were always prepared for the day ahead of us. Sadhana’s organization and planning gave us comfortable and clean accommodations along the trail. Ganesh (guide) always made sure that we were safe on the trail, well fed, and well looked after. He was extremely knowledgeable on the area, and provided lots of valuable/interesting information about wherever we were. As an incredibly experienced guide, He kept a watchful eye on our whole team - he usually knew when someone was feeling unwell, even before they realized it themselves. I could not imagine a better way to explore EBC than with Access Nepal.

Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo Ri lake May 2018 • Friends It was superb !! I highly recommend Access Nepal for future EBC trekkers. they prepared us well, gave us all the information we needed, they even provided us with a very good sleeping bag and Down jacket (and I'm glad I had this :p !). Our guide "DEVMAN" was also exceptional, a fresh young guy with a true Buddhist heart. An honest man who gave us the perfect coaching and advice to survive and prevent the altitude sickness. He was also very profesionnal in finding solutions when we had some trouble to arrive in Lukla because of the clouds, but thanks to his calm and deplomatic negotiations we made it. I highly recommend him as a guide ( Access Nepal told us in the beginning that they had given us their best guide and they did). very good Hotel in Kathmandu when we arrived and prepared ourselves and also when we arrived afterwords. No really, Access Nepal was a very good experience for me, trustworthy, profesionnal, quality ... When I'll come back it will be with access nepal again. thank you for this beautiful experience ;) David

Fantastic trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas: Everest Base Camp + Gokyo May 2018 • Friends Where to start.... We were 4 guys of 26-28 y/o from Belgium and we decided to go to Nepal for a trekking in the Himalaya in Nepal. We love nature, we love sports and we loved the idea to be in the fresh air of the mountains (far from house and for from every news/communication channel), which is a perfect spot to relax, to enjoy a natural peace and to unstress from work or other demanding activities you probably experience in your home country. So, we decided to book the trip with Access Nepal and off we went! From the beginning, communication went very well. We could ask everything and we always had a satisfying and clear answer from Sadhana, the Manager/Tour Operator of Access Nepal. They also provided us with an equipment list, which is very useful to organize your trip as you don't know what you can expect. Once arrived in Kathmandu, our guide "Devman" was waiting for us at the airport in a small cosy minivan (which is typically Nepalese) and received us very well with a big smile (always by the way!). By arriving in this busy, vibrating city, we realised the trip finally really started! Gave us a good and exciting feeling. In the evening we had a welcome dinner in a Nepalese restaurant with an explanation on the whole trip and how everything will be organised during the following 2 weeks. After having consumed some beverages and Dhal Bhat (Nepalese dish), we went to bed to be sharp for our first journey of the trek. From Kathmandu we had to take the plane to Lukla Airport, which is not very easy (depending on the weather). Sometimes, when weather is bad and cloudly, planes are not leaving, which is quite annoying as you have to wait in the departure hall until weather is getting better (can take several hours or even days). Which was really reassuring was that our guide Devman did his entire best to arrange someting as it was also possible to take the heli (extra payment) to Lukla (higher chance of flying). Finally, after hours of waiting, Devman arranged the last heli of the day for us and we took off to Lukla! Part of the experience! The whole journey in the mountains started from then on. Every day we did 5-6 hours of walking/climbing to the next village where our teahouse was waiting for us. The scenery is in the beginning quite similar to the Alpes or European mountains with needle trees and same mountain sceneries, but after 2-3 days trekking, the tree line dissapeared and the rocky Himalaya came up with its vast and incredible mountains. Every day was a big and amazing journey, with sometimes though hikes and good climbs, but the views and sceneries were priceless. We also had amazing weather (blue sky and sun during 10 days), so all our days were magnificent. Devman also guided us really well by adjusting the pace/speed according to the people and the weather conditions. Our group was quite fit and didn't experience many problems due to altitude, food or sport intensity. Devman was always very attentive for our mental and physical state and helped us with good advice and tips in the mountains, which is vital if you want to reach the highest peak (Kalla Patthar - 5545 m) without big problems. Each afternoon and evening, you also have the time to relax, to play cards, to read a book and to enjoy your teahouse and its surrounding in the middle of the mountains. The best view is without doubt Kalla Patthar, which is absolutely (and litteraly) breathtaking. When arriving in Everest Base Camp (EBC), several emotions and feelings come up by realizing you made it, you are in the middle of an incredible natural wonder and that you have to chance to admire all of this. We also experienced to proposals, which was great and an additional special touch to our trip. After EBC, we did an additional trip to Gokyo via the Chola Pass. Absolutely recommended by me and my friends! Basically you go several hours down from EBC and take another way through the mountains. People doing only EBC are doing the whole way down as they did to go up, so same sceneries and same teahouses. In my opinion much better to do EBC with another pass like Chola pass (there are 3 in total - for the big fanatics). The trek to the first village just in front of Chola Pass was probably the best trekking day we did. Even better sceneries, much less tourists (almost none!) and an absolutely amazing day. Our plan was to go over the Chola Pass the day after at 4AM, but suddenly a heavy storm started and the whole region was undersnowed. You could think: damn it! But in the contrary. Seing the same scenery under snow was MAGICAL and INCREDIBLE. I have never seen a such stunning and magnificent scenery of my life. One of our last days was in Gokyo after Chola Pass, which is a big Holy lake in the mountains. Very nice to see and as told previously, a very nice trekking via another way when going down to Lukla again. Despite it can be sometimes intensive and quite hard, we had a lot of fun and joy and we enjoyed every single moment of it. The teahouses were also more than OK with a very big menu card, so not needed to eat every day rice with curry! Our guide Devman was also always smiling and happy and you could tell/ask him every thing you want. Important to also have a good group of whom everybody is at the same physical (and mental) level. In resume: everybody that can and want to do it, should do it. You will never regret this. It's too beautiful, too peaceful, too incredible. Being far from house, in the Himalayas, in Nepal, with good friends of yours and a warm and amazing Nepalese guide is magical. Far from all comfort, luxury, connection and negative sensation. Back to basics, pushing your body to new limits while enjoying "Nature Almighty". Having a good time in family or with friends. 100% recommended. When going back to Kathmandu or home, you will also realise how comfort and luxury has become too 'normal' in our lives. Enjoy everything you have and be humble to people with less. My second recommendation is Access Nepal Tour & Trekking. An excellent company for organizing such trips. From A to Z our trip has been organized perfectly, with Devman and Sadhana as front leaders. They did always their incredible best to make us happy and to make the trip as perfect as possible. By seeing other guides during our trek, we were probably also very lucky with Devman. He was a real example of how guides should be: friendly, helpful, polite, experienced and always happy. He is not probably the best, but THE BEST. And the real heros are finally our sherpas, our porters: they deserve all credits by going up and down the mountains with our bags in sneakers, jeans and tshirts. They are incredible. Thank you for everything and hopefully see you in the near future! Charles

....Better than Excellent! 14 day trek to EBC Apr 2018 • Couples I highly recommend using Access Nepal for your trek in Nepal. We did the 14-day Everest Base Camp trek the last two weeks in April 2018 and it was well organized, professionally guided and an excellent adventure for my boyfriend and me. Ms. Sadhana Adhikari is the Executive Travel Advisor we dealt with by phone and email from the U.S. and was our main contact (other than our guide Dev) in Nepal. She handled our reservation efficiently, was responsive to our requests and questions; well organized itinerary, good prep, personable. Great to work with! At our intro meeting upon arrival, Sadhana reviewed the itinerary, policy, gear needs, other things--and tipping. See below.* We wanted to trek as our own group of two with a guide and that worked out great as we trekked slower than other groups. We're active, yet I turned 60 on the trek (cool) and the other person is 66 (he did this EBC trek 40 years ago...super cool.) The Hotel Blue Horizon in Katmandu is terrific, by the way. Stayed there before and after the trek and it was inexpensive $ and just wonderful. Staff is out of sight friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. Excellent breakfast included. I can't say enough about our top-notch guide: Devman Tamang. He had excellent knowledge of and experience on EBC and other Himalayan treks, as well as Nepali culture, history, tradition, religion, demographics and getting in and out of Lukla in one piece! (That is a story...worked out slick all in all.) He was personable, interesting and when you spend 14 days together, you hope it's a comfortable fit--it was! He has a good sense of humor and quick wit. He was flexible with us on the schedule (starting earlier in the morning, etc.) and was great about discussing any of our great ideas! lol) Accommodations in the tea houses are pretty basic and we asked to have a bathroom/toilet in our room since we'd been hydrating all day. The sleeping rooms are not heated and were rather cold (and that from a Minnesotan) so the in-room toilets were a convenience that Dev arranged, and for which we paid a little more. The beds at every tea house were spartan, but were in fact, very comfortable and the quilts/heavy blankets were fabulously warm over our sleeping bags. The Access Nepal sleeping bags we used were excellent and we were not cold once we were in bed. A couple places even had warm/hot showers-an unexpected treat. The tea house dining rooms were warm (yak turd and kerosene fueled stoves), full of other trekkers who we saw on a recurring basis over the trek and occasionally reminded me of the cantina in Star Wars (in an amusing and other-worldly way...no blasters or light sabers noted!) A highlight, great time to chat with people from around the world. WIFI is not cheap and is spotty but Dev let us know what our options were at each tea house dining room. Used it minimally to send email/text; sending photos is slow and uses up most of a limited Everest Link wifi card. Meds: Bring a lot of Tylenol, Ibuprofen, a decongestant, cough drops (you can also buy those and Diclofenac in Kathmandu), perhaps a topical analgesic for sore muscles. Dev's first aid kit held an array of basic meds which were very helpful as well. He shared local honey from his mom for one malady. I would have brought muscle relaxers and a stronger pain med for some of the random problems I had from hiking long days with new pack etc. Hand warmers were one of the best things I had for getting warm after hiking (lots cheaper to bring them from home. Rather pricey in Namche...) I took Diamox, my friend did not. Dev saved my bacon on this trek, and really, he did everything within reason to make both our lives more comfortable and to summit successfully. He was great about making sure we drank enough tea and water and ate food (which was consistent between tea houses and pretty good overall. Didn't eat any meat as it is brought in by yak and didn't want to chance a stomach problem. Bummer, I wanted to try a yak steak!) Meals were bigger than I could routinely eat (I'm a smaller human...) and the cooks don't like leftovers, so I shared with my friend and Dev if they were still hungry. We bought bottled water the whole trek, carried TP and small bottle of biodegradable soap. Tough to get laundry done on trek due to limited time and hang dry only. On April 23, we trekked through the memorial area before reaching Lobuche and Dev helped us make rock, juniper and prayer flag memorials to our loved ones who have died. Very moving. And at dinner that evening in Lobuche, he had a homemade Tibetan cake, replete with birthday candles served to our table for my 60th b-day. Altitude, emotion, whatever....it was really moving to celebrate my birthday with all my new friends/strangers in the dining room. Thanks to Dev for planning the cake and celebration. It meant a lot to me...I still went to bed early as Base Camp was next day. I appreciated Dev's positive, kind and low-key but not too mellow attitude, especially on my tougher hiking days. As I said, he was a key component in helping me reach Base Camp (On the morning we left Lobuche for Base Camp, the temperature dropped, and wind and snow started. It was a cold, challenging yet exciting day.) You may consider a 16-day trek if you want to have more time on the return trek. The last three days back to Lukla were long trekking days for us, yet we were anxious to get back to Lukla, Kathmandu and beyond. It's a trade-off for you to balance. I still preferred the 14 day. Having said that, I reminded myself regularly throughout the entire trek, to stop and enjoy the trip. Pain, altitude, snow...whatever...I reminded myself to notice the incredible environment, scenery and experience. Even when I felt like crud, that focus wasn't lost on me...We stopped to enjoy the indescribable scenery, peaks, rhododendrons, take photos, walk the longer way around the Buddhist symbols and sometimes have tea and snack when we got tired. Go slow, enjoy was our mantra. BTW, we had great weather nearly every day: either clear and warm or cooler and comfortable. Except on Base Camp day. lol **Tipping: This is important. Guides and porters depend on tips (in addition to their compensation) so build that into your budget. Our porter Astaram (16) was doing one of his first treks. Filling in for his older brother and on a break from school, this young man was awesome. He schlepped our two heavy Access Nepal duffel bags to each stop and had them waiting when we arrived each night. The porters work their butts off--don't forget them. We gave him the tip personally on the last day and it meant a lot to him. I don't think tips are dependent on reaching the destination (variables such as altitude sickness or other unforeseeable issues may intercede), it really was the overall experience that mattered, though I am grateful to Dev for helping me get to base camp. But I am also happy with the entire experience-that's what my tip was for. We had a small group, so we tipped more on a percentage basis. It was well worth it and given the very reasonable cost of the Access Nepal trek itself, I felt comfortable with it. We gave some $ early on and the balance at the end. And we talked about overall comp-as well as just about everything else- on the trail. Dollars or Rupees...doesn't matter. Just remember that it is not built into the price of the trek. Epilogue: excellent trek and adventure. LOVED Nepal and Kathmandu--you might want to wear a mask or buff as the city air quality is poor. We both got nasty head and chest colds the last day of the trek, so noticed the city air more. We really liked the people throughout Nepal, enjoyed extra days walking all over Kathmandu. Bought a lot of inexpensive knock off gear for future endeavors and because nearly all our clothes were dirty. Laundry is done at hotels but didn't find a self-laundromat which is what I needed. I am staying in touch with a couple people I met via Facebook and would have brought some business cards to exchange with people I met. I would recommend ACCESS NEPAL TOUR & TREKKING to anyone regardless of skill or experience, for a great experience at a very reasonable price.

EBC Trek-Gokyo May 2018 • Friends We were 4 guys(around the age of 27) who did EBC trek and Gokyo with Access Nepal in the beginning of May. Sadhana was the person who helped us to organise the whole trip in advance. Our guide was mister Devman. Very friendly, experienced and professional. We all completed the whole trip without any problems our altitude sickness thanks to him. If you want a good guide I can definitely advise Devman! The trekking itself was unbelievable. Nice weather and amazing views. To do Gokyo after EBC is in my opinion a really good idea. You don’t go down via the same way. The hikes to Dzongla, Cho La Pass and Gokyo are really beautiful and there are not so many people on those tracks. If you want to go for a trekking in Nepal I can advise Access Nepal to do trip with for sure! You won't be disappointed!

Trekking Annapurna Sanctuary May 2018 • Friends Had a great trekking holiday with Access Nepal Tours all thanks to our knowledge and encouraging guide Kumar and the 2 hard working Porters Sudip and Sarog. The trek was a bit challenging at times but overall a trek suitable for all. Our group included a 75 year old who inspired us throughout the trip. The Tea houses were all adequate for the trek and the food geared towards being nutrionalal, tasty and plenty of it. The views we're exceptional and Pokhara a good place to stop before and after the trek. I recommend taking the flight back to Katmandu from Pokhara as it gives a different perspective and good views of Katmandu. I recommend this trip as it's something different with adventure and if you like peace, tranquility with astonishing views and good company (with Abit of exercise). Nepal and the Himalayas is a memorable and humbling place to visit.

Brilliant EBC Trek with Ganesh May 2018 • Friends Just completed the Everest Base Camp Trek with Access Nepal and the service was absolutely brilliant. Sadhana sorted everything our for us in advance and was always extreamly quick to respond and very helpful and accommodating. Our guide Ganesh absolutely made the trip. He was incredibly helpful and extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of the many questions we had! Lovely to chat to and always in a good mood, he made sure that we were well taken care of throughout the entire trip and was very helpful when we suffered from a bit of altitude sickness. He always went above and beyond for us and even arranged a surprise birthday cake for me at base camp which was incredible! Couldn't thank him enough for making it such a special trip. Our porter Kamal was also great and very friendly! All of the tea houses we stayed in were very comfortable and had great food. I would highly recommend Access Nepal and will be using them and Ganesh when we come back for another trip!
