Once you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, you’ll be cordially welcomed by our team. One of our Access Nepal representatives will be there to greet you, and you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu.

In the evening, we provide a welcome dinner at one of the finest restaurants.

After having breakfast, you will be doing the full cultural tour in Kathmandu in a private vehicle. We will arrange for one of the local guides to show you the way around to the top cultural sites of Kathmandu, starting with the Swoyambhunath Stupa.

Swoyambhunath Stupa is one of the popular pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. It is located at the top of the hill that can be widely seen from almost every part of the Kathmandu valley.

For the Buddhists, the following stupa is seen as one of the most ancient and important stupas in the entire world.

Second up, you visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is one of the major palace areas of the Kathmandu valley. This ancient palace is designed supremely; the craftsmanship you can see is of the highest quality on the temple monuments and the palace buildings.

You’ll also get to meet the Living Goddess, also called ‘Kumari’, inside the Durbar Square. 

Pashupatinath Temple is another iconic pilgrimage site for Hindus, located in Gaushala. Lord Shiva, who is known as the mighty deity of Hinduism, is worshipped in this temple.

Lastly, you’ll be exploring the Boudhanath Stupa, which is yet another renowned pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is situated northeast of the Kathmandu city center, the area also being called ‘Boudha’. It is the largest stupa in Nepal.

All of these popular cultural sites are listed as World Heritage Sites.

After strolling through all of these landmarks, you’ll drive back to the hotel where you’ll spend the night.

On this day of the Nepal cultural tour, you’ll be leaving the Kathmandu valley and heading towards Bandipur. The driving distance will be about 150 kilometers, and it will take about four to five hours to get there.

The journey will begin on the Prithvi Highway, where you’ll get glimpses of terraced fields, river valleys, and some rural villages on the way. In the background, panoramic views of the mountains can be seen, including the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal ranges.

Mungling is one of the popular rest spots located halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara, where you can have lunch. 

You’ll reach Bandipur in around afternoon, and then you can explore the surroundings, take time to settle in, and talk with locals.

Bandipur is a beautiful Newari hilltop town with a peaceful and stunning atmosphere. There you’ll see plenty of thoughtfully designed houses with stone-paved streets and experience Newari culture and lifestyle.

Our journey continues as we head to Pokhara on a scenic drive from Bandipur. Just a couple of hours’ drive from Bandipur takes you to one of the most popular tourist hubs, Pokhara.

The landscape shifts slightly to the lush valleys, terraced farms, and scenic Himalayan views in the backdrop. The route also provides you the glimpses of the Trishuli River Valley.

Pokhara is an iconic destination for every traveler and also the gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and other popular trails in the Himalaya. There are plenty of attractions in Pokhara, including the Phewa Lake, Barahi Temple, and World Peace Pagoda.

On this day, you will boat around Phewa Lake and relax, and self-explore around Lakeside in the evening, which will provide peace of mind.

We will watch the early morning sunrise view from Sarangkot, which will be a sight to admire. After a half-hour drive from the hotel in Pokhara, you will reach Sarangkot to catch the sunrise view.

The sun appears between the mesmerizing sight of the Annapurna massif, including the Fishtail and the Pokhara valley view, creating a magical atmosphere. Once that is done, you head back to the hotel to have breakfast, and the sightseeing continues towards the Bindabasini Temple, World Peace Stupa, and Davis Falls.

In the evening, you can stroll around Pokhara city, seeing the buzzing nightlife and the calm surroundings of the Phewa Lake.

The cultural tour in Nepal continues with a drive from Pokhara to Lumbini. During the road journey, you will experience a shift in landscapes from hills to plains as you cross several rivers and villages.

The road now connects with the Siddhartha highway, giving you mountain glimpses as it starts descending from the hill. You can stop at Tansen (Palpa) and have lunch, and see this amazing hill town with amazing views of the valley.

The road also passes through tea gardens or tea estates just near Palpa. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and there lies the Maya Devi temple, which is the exact birthplace.

Today you’ll be doing a full-day Lumbini sightseeing, which begins right after having the morning breakfast. You’ll be visiting the key archaeological sites of Lumbini.

Explore Maya Devi Temple, where you can get to know about Lord Buddha, Buddhist teachings, and much more. The Ashoka Pillar is yet another ancient pillar built by the Indian emperor Ashoka.

There are plenty of museums too, which provide an in-depth understanding of Buddhism and the ancient history of the Lord Buddha. There is a sacred garden too, where lie ruins of several monasteries and stupas.

You’ll get to see World Peace Pagoda too, which is a large white stupa known for world peace. Another sight of attraction is the eternal peace flame, which signifies peace; it keeps on burning continuously.

In Lumbini, there is a Bodhi tree as well, where Buddha meditated for several years and attained enlightenment.

The sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha is a key landmark and is widely visited by many tourists throughout the year.

After having an early morning breakfast, you’ll drive to Chitwan, which will be a 5-hour drive. The journey heads east from Lumbini, surpassing the vibrant towns like Butwal and Bharatpur, to get to Chitwan.

The road will be through flat and plain landscapes, where you’ll get to see plenty of agricultural areas and bustling local towns. Get the opportunity to see the Nepalese lifestyle, busy markets, and roadside stalls.

Once you reach Chitwan, you can rest and relax after a long, tiring day and stroll the nearby surroundings in the evening.

On this day of cultural tour in Nepal, you will indulge in a full day of adventure activities in Chitwan National Park. You will get a taste of a thrilling Jungle Jeep Safari to spot various rare wildlife like the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger, and more.

There will also be a canoe ride along the Rapti River, which gives you the chance to spot crocodiles. Other activities include a guided jungle walk getting to understand the parks ecosystem and the wildlife.

After doing a lot of sightseeing around and fun activities, you will be taken back to the hotel in Sauraha, Chitwan, where you will spend the night.

The cultural and heritage tour in Nepal continues as you head to Nagarkot with a drive from Chitwan early morning. The long road journey transitions from subtropical plains to high hills, and you’ll experience diverse terrain, from dense jungles to terraced hillsides.

Just as you reach Kathmandu, you get glimpses of the Himalayas, including the Everest range, Annapurna, and Langtang. Nagarkot is a popular hill station with a serene environment, located near Kathmandu.

After reaching, you can relax and soak in the atmosphere filled with natural beauty. You can enjoy the breathtaking sunset view from Nagarkot too.

Today begins with glaring at the mesmerizing sunrise view of Nagarkot, and after that drive begins towards the Kathmandu valley. The activity for the rest of the day is of sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the popular tourist attractions of the Kathmandu Valley. Interestingly, it was set as the capital of Nepal, especially during the Malla kingdom, until 1769 AD. 

It served as the Capital of Nepal during the Malla kingdom until 1769 AD. All of the structures inside the square were constructed by the Newari artists. 

Patan Durbar Square is another popular attraction, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the city of Lalitpur, it features a royal palace where the Malla kings lived.

The Durbar Square is built on the basis of Newari architecture. You can grab immense knowledge regarding the artistic structures, history, and culture of Lalitpur. However, foreign visitors need to buy tickets to enter the Durbar Square.

Today’s program is to do a full trip of Chandragiri Hills. You will take a short drive from Kathmandu to reach Chandragiri Hills. There, you can enjoy the cable car adventure, providing a scenic view of Kathmandu Valley and the mountains.

Spend some quality time enjoying the scenic views in the hills, take some photographs, and you will make a return trip to the hotel.

The scenic cable car ride provides you with unparalleled vistas of the Kathmandu Valley. There is a Bhaleshwor Mahadev temple, which is a Hindu pilgrimage site. Another short history is also related to this place, as this is the very place where King Prithvi Narayan Shah first envisioned unifying Nepal.
