Arrival & Welcome

Premium Annapurna Base Camp Trek Route
The Annapurna Base Camp Luxury Trek Itinerary begins from the capital city of Kathmandu. From there, the driving session begins, taking you to Pokhara. Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna region. The trek officially begins from Ghandruk after you drive to Siwai.
Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village, from where you will reach another renowned village, Chhomrong. Before reaching Dovan, you’ll see pristine landscapes full of dense forests of rhododendrons.
There will be a sudden shift in landscapes as you reach the Machhapuchhre Base Camp the next day. The next day, you’ll reach the Annapurna Base Camp. You’ll get to see gigantic Himalayan peaks such as Annapurna I. This is the highest point of the trek.

Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek Permits
To trek in the Annapurna region, trekkers need permits. There are two permits required for this trek:
1)ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) Permit: The Annapurna Conservation Area Project permit is issued by NTNC. You can obtain it simply from Kathmandu or Pokhara.
The fee is USD25 (NPR 3,000) for foreign nationals.
2) TIMS Card: The Trekkers’ Information Management System Card costs around $15 to $20 for foreigners.
As of 2023, TIMS card can’t be issued by a specific person. Registered agencies and guides can only get it. Access Nepal Tours and Trekking takes care of all these permits and will obtain it on behalf of you.
Altitude Sickness
The highest point of this trek is 4,130m, which is the Annapurna Base Camp trek. Since you’re going this high, the risk of getting altitude sickness is high. If you don’t give enough time to acclimatize when trekking at such higher altitudes, then altitude sickness can get you.
Ascending higher without giving your body time to adjust in new altitude is very risky. The chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) are very high.
The common symptoms of AMS are weakness, nausea, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, etc. Inform the guide as soon as possible if you feel any of these symptoms. Don’t ascend, instead start descending asap. Stay hydrated.
Proper Safety
Our guides are knowledgeable and first-aid trained. Throughout the whole duration, they will closely monitor you, and you will be under their supervision 24/7. And they will also perform the essential rescue operations when needed.
How to Prevent Altitude Sickness?
We follow the “climb high, sleep low” rule strictly throughout the trek. Ascending at a normal pace and acclimatization are a must to prevent altitude sickness. There is a specific rest/acclimatization day as well seperated keeping the altitude sickness in mind.
- Don’t consume alcohol
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat healthy, light meals.
If the condition is bad or the symptoms are severe, immediate descent should be followed. Don’t keep it to yourself. Tell your guide about your condition.

The Annapurna Base Camp luxury trek is graded as moderate in difficulty. Not much experience is required since some part is covered with the help of a helicopter. A good level of fitness and some trekking experience is enough.
During this trek, you will cover a distance of 40-43 km in total. The daily hikes of 5-7 hours on different terrain are done. Only the portion of Machhapuchre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp is a bit challenging.
