I recently did the Gokyo to EBC tour with Access Nepal and had the best experience ever. It was great value for money and our guide Ganesh and two porters, Yadab & Tika were just amazing!!! We had fresh fruit served every night after dinner which was a lovely and unexpected touch. Our porter Yadab even helped with our day packs while myself and one of the other girls struggled to get to the top of cho la pass. Fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend this company! Also the smaller group size (4 of us) made for the perfect trek size since it was easier to stay together.

Annapurna Sanctuary

A friend and I had talked about taking this trek for years, and we finally made it happen this year. We chose Access Nepal to do the Annapurna Sanctuary trek with, and they delivered in every way. It was a more scenic route to the Annapurna Base Camp. Sadhana was our contact point, and was lovely, and made everything clear and concise, from start to finish. Our Guide, Devman, was obviously highly knowledgeable, experienced and professional, and gave us subtle suggestions about things that ultimately made a big difference, like where & when to stop for lunch based on the particular weather we had or that he could see was coming. He was also so passionate about the mountains and he and our two lovely Porters were joyful to be with! We spent a lot of the time laughing. When I trek again in Nepal, it will be through this company.

Incredible trek to EBC – March 2019

After making the decision to do the EBC trek, I did a lot of research about tour companies. I decided to go with Access Nepal because of so many positive reviews and the fact that they were based locally in Nepal. The whole booking experience was so easy. I was in constant contact with Sadhana who was so friendly and informative about the itinerary, logistics equipment etc.

I was quite nervous flying to Nepal alone, but I was completely put at ease as soon as my incredible guide Ganesh met me at the arrival area of KTM airport. From getting me to the hotel, to Lukla airport and ultimately to EBC, Ganesh made the whole experience so easy and allowed me to truly enjoy the adventure I was having.

Because I was on this trek solo, I got to spend a lot of time talking with Ganesh while hiking and at meal times. He spent hours telling me about the different regions we were hiking through, the local customs, other treks he takes clients on. He took time to introduce me to other guides and porters which was really nice considering I was otherwise by myself. His passion for the Himalayas was so obvious and it made the experience even more enjoyable.

If you are even thinking of booking a tour with Access Nepal, you should go ahead and do it, and ask for Ganesh! I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley

Purushottam (Puru) from Access Nepal was an excellent guide for our trek of Manaslu Circuit and the Tsum Valley. He was able to modify our original itinerary always for the better to find us quieter and in my opinion better tea houses and towns to stay in. This also helps to disperse tourist dollars amongst more tea house owners and not just those in the busy towns stopped in on most standard itineraries. This gave us a better experience being able to interact more with the family who owns the tea house as well.

Puru also helped us choose rewarding, very scenic and challenging side trips that were less commonly visited by trekkers and within our abilities. Oftentimes these trips required a full day trek in areas without a teahouse available for lunch so Puru backed us satisfying picnic lunches.

On the last night of our trek Puru even planned me a birthday party including a beautiful cake from a local bakery, Marigold flower necklases, and dancing to Nepalese music. Our very musically skilled porter even played me Happy Birthday on his flute that was hand made out of a trekking pole!

I was able to totally relax on this trip realizing early on that Puru and his team would take care of everything.

Sadhana was also very pleasant to interact with over email responding very quickly to our many questions and coming to our hotel before our trek to walk us through the details and answer more of our questions.

Highly recommend Access Nepal.

Annapurna Base Camp Hike – Amazing Experience

I did the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Access Nepal in June 2016. In short: Access Nepal made this an incredible experience. Overall the company is run exceptionally well. Sadhana responds to emails extremely quickly and in a very detailed manner. The information that I received prior to the trek matched 100% what I experienced during the hike.

The trek itself was great. The guide (Santosh) and the porter (Giri) were both fantastic. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the region, and fun to hang out with (which is important giving the length of the trek). The tea houses were clean, comfortable a nice, the food was delicious and plentiful and the views were spectacular. In short: I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Access Nepal team and I always had the feeling that I was well taken care of.

One final thing: bring hiking sticks if you have them. Some sections of the trek have very steep stairs which can be slippery when they are wet. You can do it without (most people that I met on the hike didn’t have any trekking poles) but if you have a busted knee (like I do), hiking sticks will make your life better.
