Ghorepani & Poon Hill are two of the scenic locations in mid-western Nepal situated at a section of Annapurna trail. Inhabited mostly by the Gurung tribe (one of the indigenous tribes of Nepal), the two villages have a lot in common.
A short trek to Ghorepani can be a relaxing trek to soothe your nerves. Starting from the lakeside city of Pokhara, you can take a private or public vehicle to Nayapul from here you can start your uphill hike to Tikhedhunga. One night at Tikhedhunga helps to acclimatize with the local settings. Tomorrow, you start walking uphill to the village of Ghorepani.
The greatest pleasure of this trek comes at Poon Hill section of Ghorepani. Located at 3,210 m (10,532 ft), Poon Hill offers a magnificent view of surrounding mountains, namely; Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Dhampus peaks and Nilgiri. Following a great time at you can descend to another famous Gurung village of Ghandruk, also the HQ of Annapurna Conservation Area.
After 5 days of rejuvenating trek, you can choose to relax beside Phewa lake, a drink beer and contemplate the trekking experience.
