The traditional route to Everest base camp Trek via Jiri

If you choose the Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri, you will be following the foot step of the first Everest summiteers Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgey Sherpa. The route is an amalgamation of nature,  adventure culture and people. One will enjoy the nature while travelling in a less crowded path up to Phakding where the path connects with the regular Everest Base Camp Trek that starts from Lukla.

When you go for the Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri, you will drive to Jiri from Kathmandu where the actual treks begins. You will enjoy the serene beauty of the nature while observing the typical lifestyle of the Sherpa and other indigenous people on the route. The portion of the trek also offers unique landscape when you walk along switchback path. One will pass major settlements and places such as Sete, Lamjura Pass, Nunthala, Surke during the trek. Tentatively, after a week long trek you will join the regular 14 days Everest Base Camp trek route at Phakding. There onwards, you will follow the regular Everest Base Camp Trek. Moving onwards you will enjoy the serene beauty of nature while passing through the Sagarmatha National Park where you can find rare species of flora and fauna. Also, the famous Khumbu glacier will be the other attraction of the trek while Kalapatthar (18510 ft.) will offer the panoramic views of world famous mountains such as Mount Everest, Mt. Lhotse among others.
