Yes, you can easily find a private room during the trek in the teahouses and lodges. In most of them, almost all of the rooms are similar. You will have a separate room with an attached bathroom and a twin-sharing bed.

Many of the tea houses have an attached bathroom, but as you trek to the higher altitudes due to many reasons, and lack of availability of the services, you might have to adjust to limited options. The western styled toilets are common at the lower altitudes while in some places at higher altitude, you can typically find squat toilets above 4000m in small wooden building made outside the hotel.

This depends on the place and the services they provide. On most of the teahouses at the lower altitude, you can easily find the basic needs, but as you move to the higher altitude, the chances of not having toilet paper and other needs are higher. We recommend you carry your own for most places.

Yes, restrooms will be available. During your stay at any hotel or teahouse, you will be provided with an attached bathroom. In some teahouses, the restrooms might be outside of your room, and if you are travelling to higher altitudes, you can also find the small toilets built outside the hotels. However, it is rare to find a toilet alongside the trails.

All the rooms are made similar in all of the teahouses including a attached bathroom, bed and probably a small table. Getting a deluxe room is rare due to many reasons during the Langtang Valley Trek. This is probably because the premium quality goods are difficult to be transport in higher altitudes so the stay will be minimal in many places, but in Kathmandu, you can easily upgrade the rooms as you like.

Normally, in the upper regions, it is impossible to buy food and vegetables from the vendors like in the cities. All of the people and tea house owners grow all of them in their gardens, which will be on the side of the teahouses. You get your breakfast, lunch, and dinner made from the fresh fruits and vegetables directly picked from the garden itself. You can expect the foods made from green vegetables, potatoes, yak milk, buck wheat, corn, chickpeas, carrots, onions, etc.

The food options are normal. All of the foods are made from scratch, and there will be no pre-made foods or any frozen foods. Almost all of the teahouses now have these modern woodstoves, and foods are prepared in them. The foods normally include traditional Thakali set (Dal bhaat), which comes with rice, lentil soup, vegetable curry, chicken curry, pickles, salad, chickpeas, etc. The other and new option besides this would be Dhido (traditional Nepali food) that can be made from buckwheat flour, millet, wheat, corn, and served with lentil curry with veggies.

Other food items include International food options such as pizza, burgers, pasta, bakery, spaghetti, sandwiches etc and some Nepali cuisines such Potato Mo: Mo, Chowmin, Thukpa, hot chocolate, homemade local whiskey, home-crafted beer, etc.

The water will normally be fresh and suitable for drinking. In some places there might be some exceptions and we do not suggest to drink from the tap waters. As for drinking, you can get hydration packets, which contain electrolytes that you need to add to the water. It is a powder drink that will help you to regain hydration longer by replacing the essential minerals lost from the body through sweat and illness.

In the higher altitudes, you might not get the necessary things that you need for the trek. We recommend purchasing the necessary items in the city area before the trek. If you are looking for purification tablets for the trek, consider iodine or chlorine based similar to aquatabs which are light weight and effective in killing the harmful microorganisms.

We recommend that you to not drink the tap water. In many village areas, people drink water straight from the tap. Some places the water is pure and the people are used to that water so it wont harm them. For the trekkers it’s best not to use the same methods as the locals do because the water can be harmful to you and further in the journey you can get sick.

Yes we can get hot drinking water with a normal price. In some places in the Langtang valley price for the water can be higher specially in the winter season in the higher altitudes.

As the trek to a certain place or a teahouse will be only for a day or two, you will not be provided with laundry services throughout the trek. The laundry services are only provided in the city areas. After completing the trek and reaching Kathmandu, you can easily find the services for the laundry in the city.

Yes, you can charge your electric equipment. It will cost you somewhere around $1-$3 per hour to charge the devices. The probability of getting access to electricity in the higher altitudes is lower. You can carry a portable power bank to charge your devices along the journey.

Vegetarian food is also available on the journey in many teahouses and lodges. However, travelling for long hours without proper protein might affect your health. Lack of nutrition and protein can affect your endurance and stamina. To reduce that, we recommend that you carry energy bars and dry fruits in your backpack.

The food and vegetables in the tea houses are served hygienically and organically, washed with clean water before it is cooked. If you have allergies to certain foods, then we recommend that you talk with the chef and inquire about their foods. If the veggies or the spices they put together on a dish happen to be the same that you have an allergy to, then you can ask them to change it if it is possible, or eat any other food that they serve. If you are extremely allergic to something, then we recommend you carry your own food and energy bars.
